An Upscale Oasis on the Bay

Thank you to Matt Williamson (mwilliamson8787@gmail.com) for his video great creation!

Tucked away in charming Brentwood Bay a world away from the hubbub of the city, is an upscale neighbourhood pub set amidst Douglas fir timbers with beautiful views overlooking Saanich inlet. The pub at Brentwood Bay Resort has become a favourite for locals and visitors alike.

The talented chefs and friendly staff have  been quietly serving up delicious food (think burgers, local seafood, pub faves, pizza and sushi - shhh, get the halibut and chips, OMG!) and drinks (think craft beers, local wines, spirits and specialty coffees) in this dramatic and cozy space for almost 20 years now.

Bring a friend or two (or three) and pop in for lunch or dinner, although happy hour is on every day from 3 to 5 PM and is never a bad idea, if you ask this Girl About Town.

One of the many things that this gorgeous pub has going for it is the wonderful ambiance. Often atmosphere can be hard to describe; a place either has it or it doesn’t. Brentwood Bay Pub has it, in spades.  During the day, the stunning outdoor views are brought inside through soaring windows, and once darkness descends, the space becomes warm and inviting with beautiful west coast architectural details and a huge rock fireplace. In the summer months, the outdoor patio can’t be beat with expansive heated patios and an outdoor fire pit.

Brentwood Bay Pub is located on the street side of the resort on Verdier Avenue (where the line up is to catch the ferry across to Mill Bay).

What I love about it:

  • modern/contemporary west coast space with friendly and welcoming vibe

  • attentive staff

  • relaxing ambiance in serene setting

Accessibility features:

  • Two large accessible parking spots in resort parking lot

  • gentle ramp from parking lot to pub level

  • accessible entryway into pub

  • ample space to maneuver inside pub

  • easily moveable tables and chairs

  • dedicated accessible restroom

  • wheelchair friendly patio (fabulous in the summertime!, access from inside)

  • friendly and helpful staff

Final Verdict:

A definite must!
