Cherries Breakfast Bistro is a restaurant you’ve really got to try!
With an emphasis on serving to the whole family in an unassuming space while jukebox classics play in the background, Cherries dishes up comfort food at its finest that will leave you feeling satisfied and happy.
What I love about it:
Cherries is an extremely accessible family-friendly eatery, with wonderful staff eager to make customers comfortable. Wholesome and delicious food with a Mennonite twist, Cherrie and her staff are ready to serve; equipped in workman tool belts ready to ready to dish out all the dining necessities (ketchup packets, salt and pepper packets, etc) so you never have to leave your seat while you enjoy your dining experience.
My friend and I shared a half order of the bacon pancake, which is an apple wood smoked bacon filled thing o’ beauty with a side of Mennonite style scrambled eggs (called rhurei), an order of Blintzes, which are German style pancakes filled with orange infused ricotta topped with berry compote and whip cream (Jaysus!), as well as sides of Mennonite sausages and fried potatoes. Delish and so satisfying!
Cherries has a large patio for al fresco dining, located on the corner of Interurban and Wilkinson Road, about a 10 minute drive from downtown Victoria.
Accessibility:
Cherries scores very high on the accessibility scale because it’s on the ground level without a stair in sight, and tables are well spaced.
The accessible bathroom (with change table) is large, the accessible parking spot is conveniently located very close to front door, and the staff are anxious to see all customers comfortable and well taken care of.
